Facial Coding provides deeper insight into consumer emotional reaction to various stimuli by examining their unconscious expressions, avoiding notoriously erroneous recall of reaction.

Looking to understand how a package design, shelf layout, advertisement, or communication material is received by real consumers? By working with the Paul Ekman Group, Eye Faster’s Facial Service uses the Facial Action Coding System (FACS)* to pinpoint an individual’s actual emotion based on their outward emotional response.

Deliverables include volume and duration of emotions to any given stimuli and element of interest.



*Developed by the psychologists Paul Ekman and Wallace Friesen of UCSF, FACS catalogs over 3,000 meaningful facial expressions that, in varying combinations, indicate the entire range of human emotion.
