Eye Faster is looking for a creative, fun and dynamic individual to join our team as a Market Research Associate. We’re looking for a self-starter looking to be thrown into a fast-paced and dynamic “startup” work environment where you will no doubt gain invaluable skills. Our ideal associate will be smart, detail-oriented and flexible. The position may require some travel abroad, so comfort in international travel is required (please have you passport updated!). When not traveling, you will mostly be working from home with potential for a shared office space in the future. Also, we are a small team and consider ourselves friends as well as colleagues. Any interest in movies, television or pop culture is a huge plus!

Overall responsibilities:

  • Project management of shopper market research studies
  • Analyze data and write buttoned-up reports for clients
  • Learn to use eye tracking hardware and software
  • Fielding market research studies in stores, involving setting up respondents with eye tracking equipment, ensuring quality data
  • Travel is required (up to 50% of the time)
  • Assist with proposals and/or sales and marketing as needed (no cold calling)
  • Respond to client’ calls

Required Skills:

  • Be a self-starter, as you will be working remotely,
  • Experience using Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data, create graphs and charts, and design reports
  • Detail-oriented
  • Flexibility and understanding that this is not a typical 40-hour 9-to-5 job, you will be responsible to communicate your availability and schedule and report to your manager on a daily basis
  • Video editing

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience with a basic understanding of research and research methodologies, preferably market research agency experience or in-store shopper research experience
  • Reside in the city of Chicago as you will be called on to collaborate with your manager
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word, Google Docs, Spreadsheets (we will test your skills during the first round of interviews)
  • Experience with SPSS is preferred, but not required
  • Experience fielding shopper market research studies preferred
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing, statistics, advertising, journalism or similar
  • Flexible schedule allowing for some nights and weekends
  • Preference will go to bilingual candidates

At Eye Tracker, we provide a complete shopper research solution, starting with the fielding of eye tracking shopper interviews in stores, then analyzing the dozens, or hundreds of hours of eye tracking video for each project. Our video coding process is designed to capture both eye tracking results as well as consumer behavior viewable through the video recordings. In analyzing the shopper videos, we are able to aggregate the behavior we see to discover similarities in the sample overall. The analysis incorporates attention data, behavioral data, as well as any other data sources that may be available (survey data, one-on-one interviews, receipt data, neuroscience data, and more).

Using these insights gathered from in-store ethnography, we partner with our clients on developing their retail strategy including planograms, shelf layout, in-store traffic flow, and signage. We provide heat maps based on what is drawing the attention of the customer as they shop.
